I am ready to bet most of us now associate India with Taj Mahal and a slumdog millionaire … But a lot of people have seen it’s most luxurious hotel – India’s legendary Lake Palace, a favourite hotel of the rich and famous. Also, a couple of times it was named one of the most romantic places in the world.

The following five-star hotel is situated in the desert state of Rajasthan, but the magnificent Udaipur Lake used to surrounded the hotel. It looked like a real oasis and such celebrities as Madonna and Nicole Kidman were here as quests.

Unfortunately right now there is an awful drought in India and there is mud despite water there right now. As a rule, guests were carried there by boat and now they can use their feet or even cars.
