To put it short, we deal with a lightweight balloon that can be carried in your pocket and used for shelter. The house is created from a metalized polyester material, and when unfolded it self inflates with body heat or from the heat of the sun and ensures a fantastic shelter. When you are inside the shelter, the material reflects your body heat to keep the user warm.

This house, that is a perfect hotel as well was created by Barcelona designer Martin Azura, whose work focuses on minimalistic and environmentally friendly ideas.

Italian architects from LEAPfactory have designed the modular New Refuge Gervasutti that is the first an alpine accommodation sanctuary for tired climbers. The construction was opened in October 2011 in Courmayeur, on the Freboudze Glacier, on the East face of the Grandes Jorasses, Mont Blanc (Italy).

The Gervasutti provides 30sq.m of living space, 12 beds and ensures 2.5kWh of solar energy a day. There are a living room, kitchen and dining area there overlooking the precipice.

It goes without saying that the views are spectacular, and the refuge comes with a red pattern that makes it visible to climbers and mountaineers, who will often be approaching from a distance.

The total cost of the project was US$334,000.
